Pre-Dynastic, 4th millennium BC. A flat-section cosmetic stone palette of a bird, amphora-shaped body, pierced through the eye and back, stumpy leg below. 160 grams, 17cm (6 3/4"). Property of a Hampstead gentleman; from his family collection formed since the 1970s.
