One of the famous Sioux treaties of Fort Sully. "These famous treaties were concluded at Fort Sully, Dakota Territory by Newton Edmunds, E.B. Taylor, and Generals S.R. Curtis and H.H. Sibley. They stipulate a cessation of hostilities and depredations by the various bands, and their withdrawal from the overland routes established or to be established through their country, etc. Among the witnesses is Hezekiah L.
