SOUTHERN CALENDAR CLOCK CO. FASHION CLOCK, brass eight-day movement marked "MANUF'D BY / SETH THOMAS CLOCK CO. / THOMASTON, CT. / SOLELY / FOR THE SOUTHERN / CALENDAR CLOCK CO. / ST. LOUIS, MO.", with patent dates, bell chime, and brass calendar movement; walnut case having arched pediment with turned vasiform finials, hinged arched glass front with gilt lettering "FASHION", flanked by turned columns to the sides, interior back having original paper "DIRECTIONS" label with Seth Thomas and Southern Calendar Clock Co. information; painted metal clock dial with inset seconds dial, above paper calendar dial lettered "SOUTHERN CALENDAR CLOCK CO. / St. Louis, Mo." and "Patented March 18, 1879". Warm later surface. Retains pendulum and key. Fourth quarter 19th century. 31 5/8" H, 16" W.
Excellent condition overall, expected minor wear to case and dials, clock dial with some scattered stains or discoloration, and an area of flaking with crude restoration/reinforcement. Currently in working condition (see Catalogue Guarantee).
