Bisque socket head incised "5" with very nice blue glass eyes, well painted brows and lashes, delicately painted mouth, pierced earlobes and head swiveling on a separate bisque shoulder plate. Although she bears no markings other than the head size number, the characteristics are certainly those of an earlier Gauthier poupees. The body is all kid leather with gusset joints at the hips and slight curve indentations at the elbows and knees. The fingers are individually stitched but not separated except for the thumb, giving it a bit of a mitten quality, however fingers have delineated lines. She wears a blond mohair wig over cork pate and has been well re-costumed in an ivory silk two piece 1880's style walking dress with plaid silk ribbon decoration and trimming, as well as nice ecru lace. The undergarments are mainly antique and she has very nice cotton blue and white stockings with horizontal stripes and nice antique red leather side button boots with heels. Some normal discoloration and wear to the leather body, especially on the forearms and fingers, however, the body is relatively solid. Condition: (Very Good). Dimensions: 19" T.
