Exceptional Pair of Bronze Ormolu Mounted Cobalt Sevres Porcelain Vases, early 20th c., the sides with gilt bronze ring handles and elaborate applied gilt decoration around reserves of lovers in a garden on one, and a couple fishing on the other, signed J. Bertren, with landscape decorations on the opposite sides, on porcelain socle supports to shaped square gilt bronze bases, each stamped "Sevres" and "Chateau des Tuileries," H.- 27 in., W.- 10 in., D.- 8 1/2 in. Provenance: Private Collection, Gulf Breeze, Florida.
One lamp has minor wear to gilt throughout. Fleabite sized firing flaw located on back upper neck. One lamp has minor wear to gilt throughout. Approximately 1/6” surface scratch present in painted decoration on back in upper trees. Both are electrified and in working order. Would benefit from a cleaning. Condition consistent with age and use. A handsome example.
