modeled by Hentschel 1906-07, two children making sand cakes on a plank, using Meissen marked cups, unglazed bottom, original model, impressed W165. There are two versions of W165, the more common showing a series of finished sand cakes on the plank as opposed to this version depicting the early stage of sand cake production.

Hentschel was an Art Nouveau painter, designer and sculptor who is beset known for his figural (Kinder) series of twelve, depicting children in various activities. Original model numbers are as follows: U149, 150; W117-124; W164-166.
