The crown features a carinated edge that peaks at the front, with nose-guard, rod eyebrow lines, with a flanged neck guard. Chalcidian helmets are named after similar helmets depicted on pottery vases from the Euboean city of Chalcis. They were used throughout the ancient Greek world as a lighter alternative helmet, instead of the heavier Corinthian type of helmet. A rare type.
