Large naturalist commissioned still life paying homage to the State of Pennsylvania's wild life depicting a vibrant arrangement of wildflowers in a wicker basket on a forested trail with Hemlock, the state tree. Two Ruffed Grouse, the state bird of Pennsylvania can be seen in the background. The painting is accompanied with the original commission receipt identifying every flower in the composition.
