The Eastern Bembe live by Lake Tanganyika.This typical mask is called "Echawokaba" and belongs to the "Alunga" men's secret society.It represents a forest spriit and is carved from a single piece of hardwood.The dyed dominating eyes,protruding mouth and the little horns are characteristic for this type of mask.
