Clockwork mech cigar cutter, constructed of cast iron with male figural ornament. Manufactured by the Erie Specialty Co. with a patent date of Feb. 19, 1889. The man appears to be sitting atop a brick stoop and is smoking a cigar. When the cigar cutter is used, the figure lowers his cigar and sticks out his tongue, often found with the tongue missing, this one is complete and operates perfectly. The platform reads "Artie The Best Cigar of the Year" with slight details of red which have softened with time. Elegant carvings along the base, some wear, but with original plating.
