EXTRAORDINARY, Chinese Ming Dynasty carved Zitan wood Bodhisattva Buddha figure of Simhanada Avalokiteshvara, Guanyin Zitan hardwood statue. With a slim body, cold gilding face, two hands, three peaceful eyes, the face slightly smiling. The right elbow is extended above the knee with the hand raised and index finger placed against the side of the face. The palm of the left hand is touching the hip, behind the left thigh. The breast encircled with Brahmin string necklace; with a lower garment of silk. The body is slightly thin and dexterous. The legs are in royal ease position, with the right knee raised, and left leg extended. Relaxing seated upon a carved hardwood stand in gnarled wooden trunk motif.
