A PAIR OF BLACK LACQUERED STENCIL PAINTED UPHOLSTERED SIDE CHAIRS, AMERICAN, CIRCA 1900-1920, with shield form arched top and shaped tapering sides centering an urn form back splat stencil painted with draped star-form rosettes with suspended laurel chain and basket and partial sunflower blossom at the base, the top and sides with gilt edges centering repeating dot pattern, serpentine front seat upholstered in apricot damask fabric, over tapering square section legs with painted dot decoration, the legs joined by an "H" form stretcher.
