AN ANTIQUE PALACE SIZE PERSIAN HAND KNOTTED WOOL RUG IN THE STYLE OF THE HADJI JALLILI WORKSHOP, TABRIZ, NORTHWESTERN IRAN, LATE 19TH CENTURY, the large rug with a red ground central radiating medallion outlined in tan and filled with scrolls of floral blossoms, with radiating pendants, the ivory ground main field with combined "Tree of Life," "Vase Rug" motifs based on the sixteenth century "Ardabil" carpets, featuring acanthus scrolls with floral blossoms centering vasiform hanging lamps at the top and bottom, contained by red ground quarter medallion corners, the highly developed turquoise blue ground main border with three repeating shaped medallions, one with a wreathed floral blossom within light blue strap work with floral blossom background, another with peacocks in a tree over a pond with fish, and another with stylized fruit and floral blossoms designed and executed with full resolution of the elements within the space, wool foundation, approximate 120 kpsi. 21' 11" x 15' 2 3/4" Height:
