AN ASSEMBLED FORTY-TWO PIECE DERBY (NOTTINGHAM ROAD FACTORY) GILT AND POLYCHROME ENAMEL DECORATED COFFEE AND TEA SERVICE IN THE "IMARI" PATTERN, CIRCA 1820-1828, with gilt highlighted paneled decoration of a single blossom on reserved white ground alternating with a group of three blossoms on blue ground, comprising eleven coffee canns; one similar coffee can with marks for the Bloor Derby factory; eleven tea cups; one tea cup with marks for the Bloor Derby factory; eleven saucers; one saucer with marks for the Bloor Derby factory; one cream jug; one covered sugar bowl; one one waste bowl; two serving plates; and one covered tea pot with stand, height: 6", width: 10 1/4", depth: 7 1/4", marked (gothic) "D" below crown, "29," "BLOOR DERBY" in circle centering crown in iron red.
Condition
In overall fair to good condition with fine glaze crackle and surface rubbing and wear commensurate with age and use; the Bloor coffee can with repaired crack with adjacent staining to the body; one coffee cann with broken handle and one with old discolored restoration to the side and bottom.
