Overall length: 57 1/2". Blade length: 42 1/4". This is a well executed Victorian period copy of a 16th century German 2 handed broad sword also known as a Zweihander. Blade has a single fuller changing to a triple fuller then a 5 fuller as it nears the hilt. There are 2 triangular projections extending 1 1/2" out from the blade on either side 7" down from the guard. Bar style guard is 18" wide w/ two 6" ovals on either side of the blade. Both bars & ovals have twisted decoration. Iron pommel. Leather covered wood grip. CONDITION: blade has a medium to dark patina as does the hilt & pommel. Leather covering on the grip shows some wear & minor separation. No scabbard. (02-10611/BF). $300-500.
