Known as "the father of modern advertisement" for his innovative use of memorable icons for advertising has become standard in today's advertising. This Cappiello poster is advertising a French Apperitif, has become this Italian artist's most famous work. The Apperitif was banned as a direct result of the relation to the advertisement. Although many reproductions exist today, this fine print has been valuated by an appraiser, and is one of the rare original from France.
