Led Zeppelin Lot of (30) Unused 1980 Concert Tickets, Posters & Letters From Chicago Stadium - This lot includes (30) unused concert tickets and posters from Led Zeppelin's cancelled "The 1980s Part One" tour. After the turmoil-plagued 1977 American tour ended abruptly with the tragic sudden death of singer Robert Plant's son Karac, it took much convincing for Plant to become willing to undertake an American tour with the band in the fall of 1980. The tour was scheduled to take place from October 17 through November of that year and cover much of the East Coast and Midwest, however the tour was cancelled after drummer John Bonham tragically passed on September 25, one day after the initial rehearsal for the tour. These unused posters and concert tickets were for the November 10, 12, 13, and 15 shows which would have taken place at Chicago Stadium. They were purchased by a collector from the Chicago Stadium Corporation as memorabilia, and will also come with (30) copies of a letter from the corporation detailing the sale. The lot includes two varieties of posters with (15) copies each, and (30) various tickets with some from each of the cancelled dates. They are in unused, mint condition. The posters measure 17" x 11".
