Boris Ignatovich (1899-1976) was a Russian artist and innovator; a photographer, photoreporter and cameraman. He was a pioneer of Soviet avant-garde photography in the 1920s and 1930s. As a founder of national photojournalism, he was one of the most significant artists and audacious "formalists" of that radical time.
