Early full calf stamped in blind, rebacked, corners and edges heavily chipped, endpapers renewed and library ink-stamp to pastedown and title verso. Title with early ink ownership signatures, some edge-toning, occasional stains or light soiling in limited places, some light foxing. Good+. ************************************** Fitzherbert's work "was an enormous enterprise for its day, a massive digest of 13,845 cases from the year-books arranged under alphabetical headings" (ODNB.) First published in 1514 in a different form, this work represents the first serious attempt to reduce Common Law into a systematic form, and it was relied upon by lawyers as a reference throughout the 16th century.
