19th century manuscript commonplace book containing various notes and extracts, most dated from the early 1800s. 8vo journal, laid paper, with 61 leaves containing manuscript and with blank leaves interspersed throughout. Reverse calf binding with ownership stamp (Buncombe) to front cover, quite worn and chipped with both covers nearly detached and spine-strip lacking, contents with occasional light foxing but overall rather clean. ************************ Written in a neat, legible hand, containing a variety of material, such as an entry on how to "Obtain flowers of different colors from the same stem," a copy of a Benjamin Franklin letter, some interesting poetry including one entitled, "Kill 'em all [and] Kiss my a - - e. A Story."
