Printed in 1965, it advertises that year's Ice Capades.
“Surely one of the most striking and effective campaigns created by Tomi -- or any artist, anywhere -- was the one for the Ice Capades in 1965” (Ungerer Posters, p. 116). It compares nicely to Cheret’s Palais de Glace series of seventy years earlier. The image itself also appeared in a 24-sheet billboard format.
It measures 28 x 41 inches (71.1 x 104.1 cm) and is in A condition (please note that standard A condition can but does not necessarily include very minor tears and creases in the boarder, provided they do not affect the image).
Note: This is NOT a reproduction.
Please note that this lot has a confidential reserve. When you leave a bid in advance of the auction, submit your maximum. The bidder who has submitted the highest bid wins the lot, provided the bid exceeds the reserve price.
