SIJAS PROSPER: (1759-1794) French Officer, adjutant to Minister of war Jean-Baptiste Bouchotte. Sijas was guillotined, together with Robespierre, at the early age of 35. D.S., Prosper Sijas, one page, 4to, Paris, 19th November 1793, to Gendarme Gregoire Colin, in French. The Partially printed document, bearing the heading of the War Ministry and the printed motto `Liberté, Egalité´, (`Freedom, Equality´), is a passport authorized by citizen Vrion, and issued in favour of Gendarme Colin, allowing him to spend eight days in Paris. The document includes full physical description of Colin, with watermark. Folded. VG £80-100
