Body of a rooster, head and neck of a horse, the front of the body with the face of a silenus.

An early representation of the winged horse Pegasus. In Graeco-Roman art, such compositions are called grylloi. These were usually engraved on intaglios and were designed to protect the wearer and diminishing the power of evil.
