Herbert George Wells was an English writer who wrote books in a number of genres but is most remembered for his works of science fiction such as ‘The Time Machine’, ‘War of the Worlds’, and ‘The First Men in the Moon.’
In 1898, Wells published another dystopian ‘sci-fi’ novel – ‘When the Sleeper Wakes’ – which follows the story of a man who sleeps for over two hundred years finding out he is the richest man in London upon his waking. The story was rewritten in 1910 under the title ‘The Sleeper Awakes’.Item number: #4599
