Production-made Xenomorph chest-burster created by ADI (Amalgamated Dynamics, Inc.) for the 2004 science fiction/horror film Alien vs. Predator. In the film the alien race known as Predators capture scientists exploring a Predator facility and expose the scientists to eggs from the classic Alien film series. The eggs produce crab-like 'face-huggers' that implant eggs inside a host. From the eggs grows a 'chest-burster' such as this prop, which, as its name implies, bursts from the chest of its host. Production noted that this piece was unused in the film. The chest-burster is made of soft silicone over an internal armature. It has resin teeth and has been painted to have a bloody appearance. There are two tears in the silicone on the rear of the prop. The prop is mounted to a turquoise plaster base for display purposes. The prop with display measures approximately 10.25 x 7.25 x 6.75 inches.
