ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC JUGS, LOT OF TWO comprising a large 12 1/2" HOA jug with blue transfer romantic design depicting cattle in the foreground with castle, ruins, and couples in the background, with a floral rim border and a 6" HOA jug with a tranquil river scene depicting a couple in the foreground with sailboat and town in background. First half 19th century.
Large jug undamaged, except for some expected wear to rim, interior crazing with spots of discoloration, and firing separation on spout interior, as made; smaller jug with moderate chip on foot ring, restoration to spout, and moderate crazing and discoloration on interior.
