A VINTAGE AMERICAN PHILCO RADIO, 1951, MODEL 51-629, with a clear plastic handle, over a gold dial to the green plastic case flanked by two brass side knobs. Height: 8" Width: 10" Depth: 4 1/2" NOTE: One of three Philco portable models for the 1951 model year, all of which received the AM band only. The 629 uses four tubes plus a selenium rectifier, and could operate on batteries, or on AC or DC household current. It was available in green (shown) or in maroon. Source: philcoradio.com


The top and back as duct tape areas with residue, and the clear plastic has now yellowed slightly with some scratches and very small chips to the edge of the handle. The dial plastic cover with some mild chips and wear, and the gold with some mild losses. The side knowbs with rub wear. The case has some paint splatter, scratches, general wear, and various other staining with some red marks near the base. The bottom of the base has some apparent melt damage that is very mild. Overall in good condition, wear commensurate with age and use. Unknown working condition.
