An antique British Sterling Silver Inkwell made in London in 1872. The inkwells are made of crystal with an opening metallic brace on top. One of the ink containers has a small chip on the bottom with a missing piece of glass. Marked Barnard Brothers John Edward Barnard and John William Barnard. This has been dedicated as a gift to two brothers of the King's Guard in 1874 (Captain W.V. Brownlow and Lieutenant I. Alexander to their brother officers and this is engraved on the inkwell). Weighs 795 grams of sterling silver (28 ounces) and 1048 grams (37 ounces) including the inkwells. Measures 11 inches wide, 7.5 inches deep, and 4.75 inches high.
