Magna Graecia, northern territories, Ionia, ca. 6th to 5th century CE. A wheel-thrown pottery kylix (wine cup) with a conical base, wide body, shallow basin, thin rim, and applied loop handles. The interior basin, underside of the body, top of foot, and majority of handles are covered in a fine black glaze which has developed faint layers of silvery iridescence. Size: 8" W x 3.125" H (20.3 cm x 7.9 cm).

Repairs to both handles with some light residue along break lines. Surface wear and abrasions commensurate with age and use, small chips to rim, foot, body, and handles, with fading to some areas of glaze, and light roughness across most surfaces. Nice earthen deposits and light encrustations throughout.
