ROSA, Salvator, (Italy, 1615-1673): Allegorical scene of Jason of the Argonauts poisoning the sleepless dragon on his quest to obtain the Golden Fleece, Oil/Canvas, signed "Rosa" lower left, 19.5" x 14.75", framed 23.5" x 19". Provenance: Purchased December 9th, 1959, Mayfair Galleries Ltd, London; then descended through the family. Sold with appraisal from Richard William Hall, Miami, 1978. Condition: Craquelure, no inpaint detected under black light however there are 2 older patch repairs verso, wax relined.
