Victorian Chinese Export Ebonized Work Table
mid-19th century, the shaped rectangular top with a raised central panel, opening to a tri-compartmented interior, over a pull-out fabric storage well, raised on turned and bulbous columnar uprights, joined by a stretcher and ending in gilt dragon feet, the whole richly decorated in gilt designs in the chinoiserie manner.

In overall very good condition. The piece exhibits minor dings and abrasions to the perimeter edges,
shrinkage and normal indication of age and use. There is scattered minor inpainting and restoration.
The top is substantially intact and original. There are some areas of slightly lifted or loose lacquer, a
shrinkage tear about 3-1/2" long, and a loss on the top near a rear corner, about 1/2" diameter, and a
slightly larger loss along the front edge of the top.
The lid retains a lock. No key present. The interior exhibits no fitments save a fore-aft divider.
The piece is functional and does not exhibit significant movement at the joint of the legs and case.
