NATIVE AMERICAN, NORTH DAKOTA, ARIKARA TRIBE, RAWHIDE CLOTHING, PIPE, HORSE WHIP AND PHOTOGRAPHS, C19TH C, 14 PCS.Rawhide beaded clothing of the Native American, Arikara Tribe from the North Dakota, Fort Berthold reservation. Includes a carved stone smoking pipe with a wood stem, 18" L, a beaded rawhide and silver frame coin purse with beaded tassels, 9" L. A larger beaded rawhide bag/pouch with red rose decorations on a black beaded ground, rawhide strips/tassels at the bottom and a rawhide drawstring with beads at the top, 20" L. A hand woven rawhide horse whip, 26" L. Also a group of 10 photos and postcards depicting Native Americans, tepees, general store at the Fort Berthold reservation and a street scene of Sheyenne, North Dakota.. The consignor's grand parents were the owners of the reservation general store.

Good condition, GA. One blue bead is missing from the clasp of the smaller purse.
