Large Size: 41.5 X 40., The acclaimed Vietnamese artist Tran Phuc Duyen graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts (Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Hanoi), Vietnam and also the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Tran Phuc Duyen was a famous Vietnamese painter. From 1942 until 1945, he studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Hanoi. At this point in 1954, like the famous Vietnamese painter Le Pho, Tran Phuc Duyen earned a scholarship to study at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Victor Tardieu, a friend and companion of Henri Matisse, was the founder of the Ecole de Beaux-Arts in Hanoi. Tran Phuc Duyen is in the same school with famous Vietnamese painters such as Le Pho, Nguyen Gia Tri, Vu Cao Dam, Nguyen Tu Nghiem, Nguyen Sang, Bui Xuan Phai. He was commissioned to decorate a folding screens, which was sent by the Vietnamese government on the occasion of the Church's Jubilee Year to Pope Pius XII in 1950. The artist was introduced to a wider French public only after his first exhibition in 1963. Five years later Duyen moved to the Bernese Jegenstorf, where he also ran his own. Title: Abstraction.
