An Interesting Antique American Civil War-Indian Wars Period U.S. Military Massachusetts Officer's Coat with Naval Flaming Bomb Epaulettes, circa. 1860-1880's. The coat exhibits hand and machine stitching. The inside maker's label is marked "--- Clayton, Boston" The owner's name is marked in pen just below the makers label "Lieut. R. W. Rop--". Overall the coat is in Very Fine condition with small areas of mothing and some minor stains. All the MASSACHUSETTS STATE Buttons are made by "WATERBURY BUTTON CO." and are accounted for except for one replacement that is a Massachusetts Volunteer Militia button. A very interesting coat that should be researched further.
