A reticulated openwork hand carved natural earth mined untreated jadeite jade pendant circa 1800. The front of the pendant is carved beautifully with a flowing design depicting clouds and a dragon, ruyi and lingzhi. On the reverse an intricate pierced lattice design decorates the entire surface of the jade. Here the carver showcased their skill beautifully by leaving the interior completely hollow. There is a hole at either end to wear as an amulet. It measures approximately 1 7/8" long by 1 5/16" wide and is 7/16" thick (48mm x 33mm x 11mm) weighing 30.5 grams. There is some slight asymmetry to the carving consistent being a one of a kind handmade antique pendant. This exquisite jadeite pendant is in lovely condition. It is hand carved and hand polished. The jadeite selected to carve has unique vibrant green coloration occurring in random almost ombre splashes across the front of the pendant. The lighter jadeite surrounding the vivid green coloration has subtle green clouds and streaks being a fresh pale celadon green. Of heirloom quality this auspicious jadeite amulet is a one of a kind antique. It would make the perfect gift for someone special or for any lover of rare antique jade.
