Very important collection of scientific essays. Itcontains two works of Volta on electricity published in the volume of 1776, as well as contributions by Beccaria, De Saussure, Ferguson, Fontana, Franklin,Mandriani, Lavoisier, Martin, Priestley and Spallanzani. Topics related to different sciences are dealt with: meteorology, agriculture, anatomy and surgery, zoology and natural sciences, mechanics and applied sciences, optics and astronomy and electricity. The work, curated by Carlo Amoretti and F.Soave, was a great success and came out at the same time in Turin and Milan: but this edition of Turin is wider and in the title pages announces to contain a new booklet in each volume; in the title pages of the last collection bookletsthere is also the indication "more than a quarter increased".
