A GROUP OF FOUR PARCEL GILT LACQUER BOXES, RUSSIAN AND BURMESE, 20TH CENTURY, comprising a Kolui style rectangular wood box, centering a scene of a rainbow over ships at sea, Kizhi Island, and a Prince with mythical woman arising from the sea, signed and titled in Cyrillic, verso "Made in U.S.S.R.;" a square example with a central snow maiden scene, signed; and a domed Fedoskino mother-of-pearl inlaid and enameled winter scene of an onion domed Church within bricked walls, the sides with panoramic winter landscape view, opening to a figural winter landscape scene on lid, verso marked, and a Burmese gilt lacquer owl form box, largest: 1 7/8", width: 5 1/4", depth: 3 3/4"
Some minor surface wear, one chip at corner of largest box, gilt rubbing, but overall in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
