Babe Ruth & Connie Mack Signed Baseball in Special Presentation from Christy Walsh
Baseball Signed "Babe Ruth," "Connie Mack," and "Gabby Street." There also appears to be a light "Nick Altrock" signature as well. Mounted on a black wooden curved blotter imprinted "Compliments of / Christy Walsh" on one end, and "Ross Murphy," the recipient, on the other end. A coating of shellac has given the ball a caramel tone and preserved the autographs at a 7/10 average. Surface wear has affected three letters of Mack's signature. Ball can be unscrewed from the ink blotter with the hole being on the bottom side with partial Official American League and William Harridge stamping. There is also a "John J. McGraw" clubhouse signature.
Christy Walsh formed the first sports syndicate using baseball stars for licensing and marketing. In turn, he made fortunes for himself as well as his illustrious clientele including those who signed this baseball. He presented these "Blotter Balls" as gifts.
