An Egyptian terracotta painted ushabti, New Kingdom, c. 1570 - 1075 BC, depicted mummiform, wearing tripartite headdress, arms folded across chest. The shabti is beautifully painted resembling mummies of the period with horizontal banding on the upper portion and a vertical register of Hieroglyphic text down the front of the legs. H: 6 3/8 in (16.1 cm). Light deposits and a well-preserved example mounted on an old wood base. Ex Manhattan, NY private collection.
