Original American 1931 Marx Merry Makers mouse band toy, clockwork black, red and white tinplate piano with four articulated mouse musicians (three in the band, one dancer), permanent key. Originally produced in 1931 and selling for 91 cents, the Merry Makers is a Four Mouse Band surrounding an upright piano. When going, one mouse rocks back and forth while playing the piano, the other beats a drum, and a third dances beside the piano.
Dimensions: 9" high, 9 1/2" wide, 5" deep.
Condition: The toy winds and the keys operate. The bandleader on the top works fine. As soon as the other pieces are attached it slows down and doesn't move. So may need some TLC. The graphics are great, this piece has the signage as well that goes on top of the piano. Some light scuffs to the key-board.
