18C FRENCH LOUIS XV ORMOULU BRONZE BOULLE CLOCK JACQUES JEROME GUDIN
French Louis XV ormoulu mounted boulle bracket clock and bracket, by Jacques Jerome Gudin, 29.5cm bronze dial fitted with enamel dial with Roman numerals and outer minute designations signed Gudin A Paris, fine foliate pierced hands, flat bottomed movement with verge escapement and silk suspended pendulum, half hour and hour repeating on a bell, fine ormolu case surmounted by a fantastic hunt scene at its pinnacle. Jacques Jerome Gudin's work can be found in the Parisian Musees du Louvre, de National des Techniques and Petit Palais. Other examples can be found in the Royal Collections at Stockholm, the Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Catherine the Great's Palace Tsarskoe-Selo, the National Museum at Poznan and at Schleisshem Schloss.
