Description
VICTORIAN ENAMEL-DECORATED PARLOR / GONE WITH THE WIND LAMP, opaque white with pale blue and rose ground, polychrome cottage by the lake and raspberry stencil decoration, matching decorated ball-form shade, globular elongated-form font vase, cast-metal foot with scroll ornamentation. Fitted with a partial brass drop-in font with side-refill feature, stamped scroll patterned shoulder, electrified slip burner with shade ring and period colorless chimney. Vase with an additional bulb. Late 19th/first quarter 20th century. 19 7/8" H to top of shade, 11 3/4" H to top of shade ring, 5 3/4" SQ base. Shade 8 1/2" H, 4" D fitter.
Glass elements undamaged, shade fitter with normal as-made minute roughness to each rim, light wear to decoration. Font canister lacking lower body and with denting to shoulder rim, burner lacking components and with associated alterations, chimney fitter with flakes and roughness to top rim.
Provenance: From the Culver collection, Tom & Michael Andrews, Berlin, MD.
