A classic Old Florida, 20th century Impressionist oil painting in the Indian River School tradition. Complete title: "Loxahatchee River: Backwoods at Riverbend."
A timeless river and landscape scene of the historical Loxahatchee River and a prime example of the work of American landscape artist A.E. Backus (1906-1990): Bold brushstrokes, careful palette knife work and impasto that bring it to life. Framed in a contemporary gold scoop frame with a raw linen, beveled lining. Backus was featured in a 2017 Palm Beach Post feature, A Master of Florida Light.
