Item Details
Description
**Originally Listed At $200**

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. Two hand-built terracotta "sheepface" figures, one short and rotund, and the other tall and slender. The shorter figure has arched feet, attenuated limbs, rounded shoulders, and a protruding abdomen. Its characteristic sheepface visage is comprised of pointed ears with applied ear spools, a prominent nose, coffee-bean-shaped eyes, and a tall brow with a thin headband. The taller figure has slightly-arched feet and long legs, attenuated curved arms, and protruding breasts. The shorter figure has black and red painted details on the buff surface, and the taller figure has red, black, and cream details in a striped pattern. A lovely duo! Size (shorter): 5.25" H (13.3 cm); size (taller): 7" H (17.8 cm).
