For your consideration is a 24 page, unbound introductory essay, plus 42 facsimiles of the studies by Pablo Picasso on paper, each mounted within folio-sized matting. Some mounted alone, some mounted in pairs. All housed within a cloth drop-back box, lettered in white, with a color facsimile cover label of the wailing woman. Limited to 1000 copies. First English Language Edition. Color reproductions of this series of 42 preliminary studies on paper, along with a thoughtful study-by-study analysis, give the reader and viewer a thorough picture of the genesis of Picasso's most stirring work. Introduction and commentaries by Marie-Laure Bernadac, curator of the Picasso Museum, Paris.
In excellent condition. The dimensions of the box are 16.5" W x 3" D x 25" H.All artwork has been examined and appraised by Terri Stearn of Detroit Fine Art Appraisals. Stearn is a native of Detroit with over twenty five years experience in fine art sales, curation and fine art appraisals. She is an active member of the American Society of Appraisers. Her expertise is focused on, but not limited to, 20th century post war and contemporary art, 21st century art, and glass. She is an expert in the assessment of condition of original works as well as limited edition prints.
