Mexican Colonial Carved Coconut Shell Bank----Possible from the 19th c. or earlier. The shell was carved overall with several panels depicting humans and botanical motifs, has mother-of-pearl eyes. The coin slot is on the top near the neck band.---Height: 4 7/8 in Width: 4 7/8 in Depth: 6 1/8 in---Lot Weight :6.6oz
The bank shell has 2 different colored eyes.Shows appropriate wear due to age and use. The mustache is missing the tip on the right side. Possibly has a repair near the hole opening and near the coin slot, since it has different coloration. See all photos and ask questions before bidding.
