Lot 0600
Silver Plated Denmark Cigarette Case Estimated more than 50 yrs old. Contains Silver Purity between 80% and less than 92.5% silver content. Tested Positive: Nitric Acid Chemical Scratch Test, Cloth Rub Test, Smell Test, Magnet Test. Markings: None. The reason silver needs to be combined with other metals is that it is very difficult to make great designs with just pure silver, which is very soft and malleable. A bit of hardness has to be introduced, by adding other metals such as copper. Mexico is the leading producer of silver, followed by the United States, Canada, Australia, Spain, Peru, and Russia. Silver can be found in nature in silver ore, silver ore is a mixture of other metals including silver. Many countries do not require that precious metal items be stamped. Size and weight is provided in the last photo of this lot if not written within the lot description. All photos represent the lot condition and may contain unseen imperfections in addition to the information provided. All items are described to the best of our abilities.
