Scarce Winchester 1886 33WCF Lever Action Rifle

Based on a John Browning patent, the Model 1886 was one of the finest lever actions ever used in a Winchester rifle. Double set trigger the rifle is fitted with a blue 24" stainless steel barrel. The top of the barrel is marked "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. / NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A. PAT OCT. 14, 1884, JAN. 20, 1885" in front of the rear sight and "--STAINLESS STEEL-- 33 W.C.F." below the rear sight. The Winchester proof is marked on the breech end of the barrel and on the front of the receiver. The lower tang is marked "PAT. OCT. 14, 1884 / JAN. 20, 1885" with no serial number. The upper tang has a peep sight mounted, Under it reads Winchester 1886. Right of the barrel reads Nickle steel/ Especially for Smokeless powder.
