Pennsylvania Continental 1s Note, April 3, 1772, sn 32043, signed by John Morton (1724-1777), Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Ridley, PA. Also signed by John Sellers and Ira Humphrey. Housed in a museum quality double-glazed gold frame with olive green velvet mat under glass having windows for note and engraved brass tags "Pennsylvania 1772 Colonial Note" and "John Morton, Signer of the Declaration of Independence" 12 1/2" x 9". The bill is worn, autographs are legible.Per Louis Jordan: An emission of £25,000 in bills of credit. Printed in Philadelphia by Davis Hall and William Sellers with engraved border cuts by James Smithers. The notes also contain the Penn family arms. One shilling notes and above have nature prints on the back, with 1s-2s6d having plates A and B, Pennsylvania was spelled in various ways on different denominations.
