An Engraved French and Indian War Period Powder Horn, dated 1758,
Having the engraved name 'Lemuel Orcut' and rhymes: 'Powder with my brother ball: Am hero HK to conquer all' and ' 'This horn fourtedward, may th 3d ye 1758'. 13 in. engrailed edge with a 2 1/4 in. smooth spawl. A flat wood striated base plug with brass eye in the flat base plug. The horn covered in its entirety with stylized floral and leaf forms. Also the letters 'PH, P' and name 'William'.

Condition

The horn has a dark patina and normal wear. Some chipping around the base plug and in the wooden spout end.
